Yes, but we're trying for the real color of the rocks here. For that to distort the whites to pink and every other known value to red doesn't jibe.

Maybe NASA doesn't want everyone to realize that Mars has a blue sky.

You can get a bot to Mars and cannot get the colors of the pictures right ? seems strange.. just sending and receiveing the pictures is far more complicated..
