...but you're right - the license proposal was the coup de grace. It lent the recall tremendous popular momentum.

And as you can see there are some amongst us who refuse to believe that... and they don't even live there.

If Davis would have calculated that he could win the recall without signing the License measure, he wouldn't have signed it. Period. Paragraph. He was losing, the Immigrant License initiative was his last gambit to grab Latino votes to thwart the recall. Anyone who says that things were going swimmingly for him until he signed the measure is posting from a head injury clinic.

Arnold was going to be California's next governor before Davis signed that measure, and obviously after he signed the measure. Interestingly, Schwarzenegger was fought tooth and nail here on FR by the same trogolodytes who are currently fighting Bush tooth and nail here on FR. To the same eventual outcome, I might add.

FreeRepublic no more represented a realistic view of what was happening in California, where Arnold beat McClintock over 3 to 1, than FR is a representative sample of the sentiment and support of George W. Bush. This place is becoming the mirror image of DU. We're becoming as whackjob right as they are whackjob left. Irrelevant both.

Congrats on that.
