The French looking senator - who served in Vietnam by the way, has been touting his military service as his qualification to be CINC. As such, it's more than appropriate to point out that he was only a stinkin' Lt! If Gen. Jello didn't point that out, Karl Rove sure would have.
In any case, I don't think yesterday's 'win' means much. As i's been reported, except for Jimmah 'Help-I'm-Being-Chased-By-A-Rabbit' Carter, no Iowa 'winner' went on to get the nomination.
We must keep the faith that Dr. Demento will carry-on (pun intended) and his little army of storm-troopers1 will get out the vote in N.H. & S.C. big time.
1 -- Yesterday on NBC or MSNBC's website, the reporter called his followers ''Storm Troopers''.
I saw that one myself, and my jaw hit the floor. I don't think anyone (outside MoveOn.org circles anyway) has referred to even President Bush's supporters as "stormtroopers."
I completely agree with you about Kerry pimping his war record as a means of making himself immune to any criticism at all. Still, Clark's remarks on Larry King struck me as a needless cheap shot. Maybe I took it that way just because Clark disgusts and frightens me so much. This is a guy who desperately needs to be kicked back under the rock he crawled out from under, and his military career needs to be studied as an example of why people should be promoted to senior leadership positions on the basis of abilities other than kissing ass.
