Twenty years ago a high school drop out could get a job in construction, trucking, or manufacturing, and still do pretty well for himself. Well enough to own a car and afford some type of housing, by the age of twenty.

One by one these jobs have been outsourced, or filled by a wage suppressing immigrant, lowering the expectation and living standard of many Americans. Such is not suppose to be the case. In raising the boat of third world nations we have sunk the boats of many average Americans. Meanwhile those that stick it out through college are finding their jobs outsourced and their options limited.

Why do you think so many people my age are enraged, we know what has happened, we know America is being stripmined, and youth who has never known anything else, raised in the fed propaganda camps, have no clue of how badly they have been robbed.

You are merely parroting the propaganda of the enemy like a good little public school student. There are not that many white collar jobs and in fact all jobs have been artificially manipulated out of the country, or by immigrants in country all due to deadly socialist government policies and freedom robbing Free Trade.

A heads up for the conservative California voter.

Carl Rove does not need California's electoral votes later this year to reelect his man.

Therefore nothing we do or nothing we say is going to have an effect on the obvious Hispandering currently being conducted at the expense of our republic.

We are pissing into the wind and might as well not waste our collective energies complaining.

But if other conservatives in states that Bush must win would stand up for us it might make a difference.

Politics, even after 9/11, will not permit a discontinuous solution to this problem. Consider the image of INS rounding up thousands and thousand -- or millions -- of brown-faced men, women, and children, and sending them back to a hopeless fate in Mexico. Consider the impact on the highly leveraged real estate market when millions of home-owners and tenants disappear.

Unless we have a 9/11-like event related to illegal Mexican immigration, politics will only support a continuous solution to this problem, one that points policy in the right direction without abruptly changing the lives of millions of people.

Perhaps something like a 5-year or 10-year phasing-in of a special tax on the hiring of illegal immigrants, with significant rewards and anonymity to whistle-blowers.

If this would have made it into the dead tree version I would have thought Hell had frozen over.

Satan must be wearing a parka then. I nearly spilled my coffee upon seeing this piece in my morning WSJ.

The WSJ editors are inveterate cheerleaders for any and all immigration. Cannibals from New Guinei Highlands? Why not? They wistfully dream of a utopian America, where the wage is the $0.75/hour. Probably made it because the Editors were embarrased that they had to look up what a helot was.

VDH is definitely the biggest thing in Selma, save for the Selma Auto Mall.
