My wife swore I'd never guess what my brother was getting me for Christmas, and she was right. It was the Firefly series, including 3 unaired episodes, on DVD. Pretty cool present. Like you, I loved the series, but figured the humor and story line was too advanced for normal broadcast Fox viewers.

It's always a bummer to be watching a show and you realize that it's too intelligent for TV viewers and that it's doomed.

I was really disappointed that Sci-Fi channel or WB didn't pick it up. Dang but those TV people are stupid!
