My personally opinion is that letting our country become dependant on foreign energy has done more to bankrupt us as well as place us under the control of foriegners (that hate our guts) than anything else to date.

I cannot fault your assessment. Note the enviros and their congressional buddies bleat about energy dependance yet do work VERY hard to ensure it remains in place.

I wholeheartedly agree with what you have said.

Take the issue of nuclear power, it is clean, safe, cheap, and plentiful. Look at the job of demonization that has taken place against that energy source, the general public panics at the mere mention of the thought. Hydro-electric (save the salmon), coal (acid-rain), wind (kill the birdies), oil (Santa Barbara spills and Exxon Valdez), and geothermal (spoiling nature's wonders). You name it and some enviro-freak has demonized it. The only source of energy that hasn't been demonized is buying foreign oil.

I don't think that has been coincidental. But then again, I do have my tin-foil hat ready just in case. 8^)
