I know that I need a tin foil hat sometimes, but not when it comes to funding of the environazi organizations. They have done more to damage our country than Al Queda ever has. My personally opinion is that letting our country become dependant on foreign energy has done more to bankrupt us as well as place us under the control of foriegners (that hate our guts) than anything else to date.
The usefulness of these enviro-idiots would make Stalin smile.

I cannot fault your assessment. Note the enviros and their congressional buddies bleat about energy dependance yet do work VERY hard to ensure it remains in place.

Thanks so much for the "increasing the picture size" information!
Glad that my info was helpful. Another rule of thumb is to check the file size (by right-clicking on the picture and clicking properties), the larger the filesize, the larger you can usually make the picture without too much distortion.
With a little playing around it will be really easy. For instance the picture that Howlin provided in #218 has a much larger file size and could be made even larger without distortion than the one that I played with earlier.

I wholeheartedly agree with what you have said.
Take the issue of nuclear power, it is clean, safe, cheap, and plentiful. Look at the job of demonization that has taken place against that energy source, the general public panics at the mere mention of the thought. Hydro-electric (save the salmon), coal (acid-rain), wind (kill the birdies), oil (Santa Barbara spills and Exxon Valdez), and geothermal (spoiling nature's wonders). You name it and some enviro-freak has demonized it. The only source of energy that hasn't been demonized is buying foreign oil.
I don't think that has been coincidental. But then again, I do have my tin-foil hat ready just in case. 8^)

Yeah, I really do. I saved both the earlier one and the one that you posted. I have never seen either of them before.
Just the thought of placing oneself out there in front of all those people, with the danger involved, and then the added stress of trying not to make a fool of oneself while pitching the ball, while being an amatuer, and wearing a heavy vest, and being over 50...................
Well the whole thing is a little too much to comprehend, but GWB did it, and did it exceedingly well.

Thanks for relating your thoughts. They speak for many of us. It makes me wonder what sort of hardening of one's conscience has to take place such that they can see the same things we do, as you described, and they react to them with a yawn. They clearly don't "get it," and I'm afraid they never will.
I used to be very pessimistic about the future of this country. I have to say that my hope renewed when a man of decency, integrity, courage, and faith moved into the White House in 2001. As long as enough American people "get it" and support this man of decency, integrity, courage, and faith, I'll retain my hope for America, because it will be an indication that these character qualities are still valued among Americans. It bothers me greatly that many so-called "conservatives" are apparently so cold to those character qualities.

Hey, thanks for the review. I had some mixed feelings when I read the review on Amazon.com. Some of the things that the people had to say made me feel a little uncomfortable. Some of the people said there were some not so nice things in the book, so I was not sure if I should buy it.

My thought has been that those who don't recognize the qualities of goodness, moral clarity, strength and courage in the President, may well be lacking in those qualities themselves.
As an example, consider that the left continues to call him a liar. Now we all know the many on the left wouldn't recognize the truth if it hit them in the face (and that George W. Bush may well be the most honest President since Abe).
They can't recognize honesty, because they don't possess honesty as a personal characteristic. And maybe that's the problem of those on the extreme right as well, and that's why they are so miserable, and scream so loud. He is optimistic, contented, loving and encouraging..........personal qualities that they lack.
I'm absolutely sure that its true of those who say the President lacks courage. If I were a betting woman, I'd say he has more courage in his little finger than they have in their entire bodies.
Bottom line.........I think they're miserable..........and jealous.

OK, I get it.
Bush is some kind of divine deity.
What thin skin. Any jibe at the Fearless Maximum Leader is verboten.
Peachy.

>>Pity your family and friends.
I've been disowned and don't have any friends.
Perhaps that's the reason for my irrational hatred of Bush.
What's your reason for viewing him as unfallible.
To: swarthyguy
What's your reason for viewing him as unfallible. Never have, never will. Unlike you all, I don't expect HIM to agree with my every thought.

"I have to say that my hope renewed when a man of decency, integrity, courage, and faith moved into the White House in 2001."
great post!
Although I was stunned by CFR (really more at the Supreme Court's decision--though I have a feeling GW was stunned at the SCOTUS decision as well), I think Pres. Bush is a man of character and integrity.
One can disagree with him on some issues and still admire him as a person and president, and still vote for him (as I will).
And what he did that day was indeed an act of courage, a tremendously symbolic act that reassured Americans that he would do whatever it took to get back "our way of life."
Thanks again to the original poster of this thread for reminding us of that day.

WWOZ is back broadcasting with Media Player.
Sounds twice as nice in the frozen north.

>>Unlike you all,
Well, that's your misunderstanding.
Domestic policy is of secondary concern to me. My focus is the WoT. I don't see any alternatives to President Bush and his preemption strategy and forward defence.
But I would still like the big stick against the Saudis.
To: swarthyguy
So would I. Stay tuned.

I SO enjoyed your post #211, "Truth." Brought back many memories.
Although I've lived in the L.A. area since 1976, I grew up in Jersey City and Union City, NJ. My father's family emigrated from Italy in the early part of the 20th Century and settled in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. One of my cousins still lives in Greenpoint. My dad is buried in a cemetary on the Brooklyn-Queens border, within sight of lower Manhattan.
For the last five years before moving out here, I lived in Flushing, within walking distance of Flushing Meadow Park and Shea Stadium. My dad took me to Yankee Stadium when I was a kid, and I still remember walking out to center field to see the monuments to the great Yankees of old.
Although I didn't lose anyone close to me on 9/11, I don't think there is anyone who grew up in the New York metro area for whom those attacks weren't deeply personal.
That pompous windbag we were dealing with yesterday simply doesn't understand that quality we call courage. He/she simply is blind to just how significant the seemingly simple gesture of a President throwing a pitch can be to people such as yourself who lost so much that awful day. Such people as the windbag really aren't worth our time.

Thanks, Miss Marple. I'll pick up a copy of "We Will Prevail" this week. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Especially after wading through the muck of "The DaVinci Code."
