Yeah. After "Thank God!", my next response was, "Where are all the Freepers who complain that Bush was too RINO-y to push for his own nominees?"

How about we all agree to support amnesty for one illegal alien for each recess appointment of a conservative judge? Sounds like a plan. If he appoints Estrada and Owen, I'll sponsor one fruit picker and one gardener. If he appoints Bork, I'll throw in three bus boys and a dish washer.
To: over3Owithabrain
I'm still pissed off about the amnesty bull$#!t...but, when they (TXGOP) give me a call this year, I'll be there like always.

Look up "Ronnie White"

I am in agreement that given the timing it looks like an attempt by W. to get conservatives back on board and to divert attention away from his illegal alien amnesty proposal.
While I certainly agree with the recess appointment (and think that ALL of the stalled nominees should have been given them) This move definitely sounds like it is all Karl Rove, taking a playbook out of the Dick Morris school of triangulation...

Will the Dems make an issue out of this?? Hahaha... Come on you losers, make an issue out of Pickering so the press can report it! HAHAHAAHAAHA....
To: TomGuy
GWB should have done this 2 years ago when he first nominated Pickering. Then Pickering's term would've been up at the end of the last Congressional term, and the 'rats would've had an issue to use against the Republicans during mid-terms.
I wish he'd have done something earlier, too, but I'm not going to argue with this. Bush wins big in November '04, the January '05 Congress will want to play ball...
