I signed up in '98 and lurked for almost a year before signing up. You do NOT have to tell me what FR used to be like.

It wasn't until the primary season/election of '00, that it became evident just how many " old timers " here were FRINGERS.A few were known; most weren't. And as far as Conservative values are concerned, a lot of FR's so-called Conservatives aren't,have few if any, and don't understand politic at all.

There are two major political parties... TWO ...from which elected officials ARE elected. That's it! When one sits home, or votes for some fringe candidate,it is defacto voting for the DEM ! That's it, no ifs, ands, buts, whatevers, etc.!

You " teach " no one anything at all,by staying home/voting fringe.

Your " principles " won't keep you warm, fed, able to sleep, clothed, housed, nor free !

Since I am usually one of THE last, if not THE last, to even know that there's so kind of poll on FR, I can't really comment on what's on them.

I never accused you of " hating Bush ".

We didn't get here in one fell swoop and we certainly are NOT going to get out of it quickly. I don't like/agree with everything President Bush has said/done, but we've got a far better chance of getting some things we all claim to want WITH him in office, than with him NOT in office.

People said the same things and far worse, about every single immigrant group who came into the USA ( legally and illegally !), as they now say about Mexicans. And YES, people DID come in ILLEGALLY even when there weren't any quotas. They jumped ship and swam ashore, to avoid the " tortures " of first Castle Garden and then Ellis Island.

During WW I, people wanted anyone and everyone DEPORTED, who had come here from Germany, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, INCLUDING native born Americans with those backgrounds. Even certain foods were boycotted and some of the ethnic names of some of the foodstuffs were changed. There is absolutely NOTHING " Danish " about Danish pastry...it's a Hungarian pastry!

Jim HATED President Bush the elder. Ask him now, NOW if he thinks that President Bush the younger should NOT be re-elected.

To read Heather MacDonald's masterpiece is to know that this nation is finished. We're just arguing about deckchairs on the Titanic.

I live in San Diego, I'm fluent in Spanish. Coyote is right on.

MeCha means fuse. MeChistas are now spread through every level of state government. The ones who shouted for Aztlan in college are now in government, making policy.

I'm arguing with "compassionate conservatives" who have no idea of reality.

We, the ones who demand proper law enforcement, are the only ones who can save this nation from being finished.

I don't know who you mean but I am firmly rooted in reality.

You have clearly defined the problem but have yet to propose a solution that will allow for the Federal government to solve the problem absent cooperation from the States.

Let me ask a personal question: Will you benefit if there are illegals in the US? Is yours or a family members job connected with them in any way?

Socialist/communist Clintonistas were spread through every level of state government a few short years ago. The ones who shouted for "peace, love, dope" in college were in government a few years ago, making policy. 50 years ago, unabashed racists, some of whom helped lynch blacks, were spread through every level of state government, et al.

Look, we're going to be OK. We really are.

The Bush administration has allowed this matricula consular card, over the strong protest of the FBI. This allows the free movement of illegal aliens across America.

Remember when the story broke that Clinton had raped Juanita Broaderrick, and suddenly all of the feminists got really quiet about the whole issue of rape? I laughed at their obvious hypocrisy, and their loyalty to Clinton over their principles.
I always thought conservatives were better than that. I'm disgusted by the number of pantywaist Bush-supporters suddenly deciding that an amnesty for illegal immigrants isn't all that bad. These are people loyal to party above all else.

Being loyal to a Party with no principles is going to doom us conservatives who put ethics and integrity at the top.

"Anecdotal "evidence" such as you presented is useless because it cannot be corroborated. "

Are you telling me that if you look at the hand in front of your face, that is anecdotal evidence that can't be corroborated? Look, you are effectively calling me a liar for telling you about the people I deal with every day. Since you have called me a liar, I'm going to call you a babboon and leave it at that - your wit has reduced me to using your same debating technique.

Adios amigo. Y que se le vaya bien quando estas hablando espanol, trabajando en un llanteria abajo el bendicion del gobierno de Mexico. Espero que los pandilleros no molestan a tus hijos cuando estaran viviendo en Mexifornia.

No being a "base" that continually acts as an opposition party has completly made your flavor of "conservative" irrelevant and out in the cold. Bush owes that "base" nothing since 2 million of them voted for PJB or stayed at home in 2000. The GOP has not owed that "base" anything since 1992 since they voted Perot or stayed at home in 1996. Sorry that "base" has no one but itself to blame. The GOP has moved on and it has benefited from that move.
