The love of God is no more in them than the people they criticize.True. Christianity is about forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God, not condemnation and hell. Prayer for the forgiving of sinners, even dead sinners, is more in the spirit of Christianity than what was done by Phelps and company in the Shepard case.

God wishes that none go to hell.
So I always get a little nervous when some of God's "followers" are a little too axious about seeing sinners get punished.

Christianity is about forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God, not condemnation and hell. Mathew 18:6 "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

They certainly played into the hands of the gay activists who made the Shepard case into a cause celebe. As though one incident was equivalent to the thousands of blacks lynched over decades.
