Yes, but will they be using GM plants on Mars? ;)

Note to liberal twits that might object to GM on Mars, the plants are going to be seeing a lot of radiation anyway, better that they are genetically designed to withstand high radiation and thrive to feed newly arrived Martian immigrants.

If only the Indians had a genetic engineer on staff, they could have raised their standard of living faster than the European immigrants who nearly starved because of inefficient central planning-directed farming practices.

On Mars we are going to need very efficient, hearty plants to feed Martian pioneers. Given the tight constraints on a lunar base similar plants will be needed there, supplemented with Earth grown foods shipped in.
