the southland, absent the WBTS, would have freed the slaves in 5-10 years, as everyone with brains in the southland KNEW that slavery was a DYING institution. And that continues to be one of the more ridiculous statements that you make on a regular basis around here. Slavery in the south, absent a Union victory in the Civil War, would have continued for decades after the war. Probably well into the 20th century.

don't you WISH you were correct????
intelligent people on FR are on to your game.
you KNOW better, you just don't want to admit the TRUTH about the lust for dixie freedom having NOTHING to do with slavery (with the obvious exception of the 5-6% of southerners who actually owned slaves.).
as the Minister of Damnyankee Propaganda, it is your job to tell FALSEHOODS!

the REAL REASON you can't/won't admit that slavery was NOT a major cause of TWBTS is that doing so would force you to admit that the damnyankees were less than perfect and, in point of fact, were HATEFILLED, intrusive, imperialistic,self-righteous crusaders against FREEDOM!
that you cannot ever admit!
nonetheless it is the TRUTH!
