Does this remind anyone else of the orgies of Rome? You know, the ones they had right before the Empire collapsed?

Actually, the Western Empire generally enjoyed a revival of morality and religious fervor in the century or so before its final collapse.

I dunno ... As late as Valerian (around 250 AD), the Empire was at war with the Church. It wasn't until Diocletian that the Imperial Crisis was resolved and peace established.

Not that accord with the early Church is necessarily an indicator of morality, but there is little to recommend Rome as an exemplar of carnal constraint, at ANY point in its history.

Absolutely yes...my mother walked into my bedroom last night looking quite pale. Apparently a nurse was at a party and regaled my mom with the tale of two teenage boys who were sexually pleasing themselves with mice. She wanted to know if that was even possible. I just laughed and told her, stay off the Internet.
