This is an issue that the GOP nominee must hit Easley hard with. Most Americans don't want illegals getting driver's licenses. It is a breach of homeland security. If a liberal state like California can repeal SB60 (driver's licenses to illegals), then why can't a conservative North Carolina do the same?

Senator Shubert has had an impact and every other GOP candidate has picked up her issue on the licenses. Incumbent Governor Mike Easley released a plan on New Years to stop our DMV from accepting Matricular Consular documents for licenses.

This change does not go far enough, it is just to respond to Shubert's campaign which is gaining momentum.
