This Eagles' fan's worst nightmare:
1:51 left in the 4th Quarter, Eagles 20 Packers 17. Brett Favre has just completed a 10 yard pass to draw the Pack to their own 40 pausing before taking the snap from Center Mike Flanagan, he looks skyward, points to the heavens and can be clearly seen mouthing the words "This is for you Dad!"
At that point, I turn off the T.V., pour an ice cold Martini and contemplate the roll of football in my life...

As a Packer fan, here is something that concerns me deeply. Chad Clifton went down with the flu yesterday. Today his back-up, Kevin Barry, is down - also with the flu. It hits those big guys hard.

I'm sure most philly fans are just your average street supporting, free mumia types.Mumia's a Hollywood thing, not a Philly thing. Philadelphians (non-Muslim Philadelphians, that is) have a special kind of hatred for Mumia.

You're right about the LBers of the Pack vs. McNabb. I like that Nick Barnett kid a ton. Great pick. What are your thoughts on Navies and Diggs?
It's been said many a times, that we can't miss tackles against Green. He's just too good at cutting back to not wrap him up as soon as he reaches the second level. Our LBers are quick and can get to the ball but they're average tacklers (Simoneau and Wayne). Reese, I like a lot, but he doesn't have the quickness of the other two or Carlos Emmons.

Naw, no need to read it again. I just figure the guy's jealous. After all, Lambeau doesn't have a courtroom & holding cells in its basement, Green Bay didn't elect (in a landslide) a mayor who's being bugged by the FBI, and there's not a 45 year wait for season tickets.
Of course, we Green Bay Packers team owners knew that already.

No, I am not a Bears fan. I grew up in Wisconsin during the Lombardi years. I drank Wisconsin water into adulthood and I have a green and gold helix in my DNA. I am a Packers fan.I have to root for the Packers this weekend only since they're playing the Eagles. McNabb's whining over the Rush incident turned me against them. :^)

LOL....under that scenario, it would indeed be a "roll" of something for an Eagles fan. For me, the nightmare is KGB about to sack DMcN, but wait.....McN slips away....he rolls out to the right.....there's nothing but grass between him and the end-zone...... At that point I have a very cold Wisconsin beer - Berghoffs preferred. Good luck for a great game and may there be only spirited sportsmanship in the stands!

Lets see. Little Green Bay has how many NFL championships and big old bad Philly has how many?
Go Pac. I'm a Steeler fan, but have always loved the Packers.

I always liked the Eagles, but this is such a classless rant that I truly hope the Pack beats them this weekend. As someone else said, this should be e-mailed to Green Bay's coaching staff immediately. It's not funny, it's just plain mean. "
I don't know about the coaching staff, but everybody else in town has heard/read this column and are giving it ALL the respect it so richly deserves (zilch). It is not worthy of comment.
Should be a good game Sunday!

Having said that, I hate it that the Bears have been lousy these past years. My co-workers can't believe it when I say it, but I like the Bears. I hope they hire a strong coaching staff. Yeah, that's why I was asking, I was wondering how the outlook is on that.
Now, the Minnesota Vikings on the other hand......
I hated the Packers so much when Forrest Gregg was there that I was hoping they'd disband. They seemed like they were more interested in being thugs than playing football, with the McMahon incident and also there was a big fight between them and Tampa Bay where they were out of control. I don't hate them anymore though. I told everyone that my hatred would end if they lost to Denver in the Super Bowl that one year and they did. lol

Diggs is our best LB and I know there have been some thoughts about putting him back in the dime package because of Barnett's struggles against the pass last week.
Navies has played well all season and has been consistent. He's the WL LB and he won't be in on the Dime Package. Good tackler. Good against the run.
I tell ya what...we had Wayne last year and losing him wasn't that much of a loss. The guy is up and down and a terrible tackler. One thing about Green, most the missed tackles against him are not by the DL but by LB's and DB's. His legs are huge and very powerful. Just look at that 4th down play last week. The Seahawks LB hit him behind the LOS and Green just took him with him. Good tacklers tackle around the thighs. With Green, his thighs will kill ya so you have to get him around his ankles.
Emmons will be a loss for you. The play of the LB's on either side of the ball will be huge.
As another poster sighted, some of our guys are being hit with the flu. Hopefully it passes quickly.

I think that the attendence at Packers games draws from a LOT wider radius than just the Green Bay city borders. You are correct. This guy obviously has never been to Wisconsin. Maybe he could have written a funnier and less insulting article had he not been ignorant of his subject.

During the Pack's recent Super Bowl years (96-97), I don't remember any "We hate Carolina" or "We hate the Forty-Whiners" or any other such articles. We just went out and beat them. Eagles definitely lack class -- and that goes for the Whacko Jacko Thriller antics in the end zone too.
