Just to be clear though: both sides of the debate rely on the theory of spontaneous generation.

FALSE!

Evolution theory is about the slow change of existing living organisms over time.

Creationist theory demands that new organisms be spontaneously generated.

When a Creationist can demonstrate the spontaneous generation of a new organism, then I will be most impressed.

Evolution theory is about the slow change of existing living organisms over time.

Which is undoubtedly why the theory of Punctuated Equilibrium had to be invented.

Creationist theory demands that new organisms be spontaneously generated.

Which is precisely what the fossil record shows.

When a Creationist can demonstrate the spontaneous generation of a new organism, then I will be most impressed.

Lest we get to far afield here -- where did those original, evolveable creatures come from, if not from spontaneous generation? When you take things back to the beginning, one minute it was a collection of organic blorf, and the next minute it was alive. Spontaneous generation.

FALSE!

Evolution theory is about the slow change of existing living organisms over time.

A demonstratably false notion due to the biological need for an organism to make numerous systemic changes simultaneously to survive. For example, a creature moving from water to air would have to "evolve" more than one thing (lungs, circulatory system...) to make the shift.

In fact, evolutionary theory recently has been morphing into "burst-evolution" theory which attempts to explain the absence of "transitional" link creatures in the fossil record by saying that new creatures appeared almost "spontaneously." (Gee, sounds a lot like Creationism without that annoying concept of a God to be accountable to.)

Seems to take about as much faith to believe either religion. So I'll choose the one with a God.

FALSE!

Evolution also demands spontaneous generation of life because Evolution does not and can not explain the origin of life. Evolutionists can either ignore the question or admit it is based solely on spontaneous generation of life.

When an Evolutionist can demonstrate how evolution begin (spontaneous generation of life), then I will be impressed.

Most evolutionists deal with this question by running away and claiming evolution does not address the origin of life.

Creationists claim God created man from dust in one day and you think that's foolishness.

Take swamp ooze add a billion years to the equation and it becomes believable?

Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be fast at what you do...
