January 7, 2004 -- A DESPERATE and paranoid Prin cess Diana penned a chilling note accusing Prince Charles of plotting to kill her by tampering with her car brakes - 10 months before she died in a mysterious crash.

"This particular phase of my life is the most dangerous - my husband is planning 'an accident' in my car, brake failure & serious head injury in order to make the path clear for him to marry," the frantic princess scribbled on her official royal stationary in October 1996, the Daily Mirror of London reported yesterday.

That'd be a sloppy way to off someone. I find it hard to believe a professional hit team would resort to a brake-job to do it.

Penned it on official stationary? Why didn't she send it straight to the tabloid press? Why the lag time of YEARS for this document to surface?

""A 1999 Paris inquiry blamed the horrific accident on Paul's alleged drinking and speeding to escape a flock of paparazzi""

I saw the special where they disproved all the different "ideas " folks had about how they were killed.
The only thing that still remand in question. The Driver was not a drinker, EVER. On the autopsy they checked his liver, it was not consistent with some one who drinks. His liver was clean. Why would someone who never drinks all of a sudden have more booze than anyone person could ever handle.?? They suspect the blood was tainted.

Also the "white car" driver that was involved was never found. The possible owner of the car was burned to death years later, it was a homicide.

Burrell is a despicable human being; profiting off the confidential relationship with someone who can defend herself.

If any of this is even remotely correct, who would have the most to lose if the truth comes out?
And could this be the beginning of the end for the Royals?

I know that Diana was flaky but I think that Charles (or Prince Phillip) may have had Diana killed. Of course, it would never be connected to the royal family. It is kind of shocking that many peoples' reaction to this letter is that Diana was just being paranoid. I mean, she did end up dying in an "accident". I am not anti-Royal family at all but after studying history it is not surprising that there are ice-cold veins in that royal blood.

But Dodi's dad, Mohammed Al-Fayed, who attended yesterday's opening of the inquiry into the fatal crash, was buoyed by the new revelations about the letter.

I was walking through Harrod's last week on the first day of the big sale there when someone behind me said in a nice British accent "pardon me." I turned around to find five security guards and Mohammed Al-Fayed. He was walking around checking things out. He would look at the workers (4,000+ at Harrods) behind the counters and if they weren't smiling, he would put his hands up to his mouth and make a smiling gesture. Some workers already knew the routine I guess, as they started smiling as soon as they saw him.

Find me one ex-husband fighting a dirty divorce who doesn't want his ex-wife dead. Puh-leaze.

Oh, paleese. The "accident" WAS an accident. And it became a fatal accident due to a drunk driver, high speed and three of the four passengers not have sense enough to buckle a seat belt.

You're exactly right - she suffered severe injuries which could have been prevented by her having worn a seat belt.....more mention is made of the "phantom little car" that supposedly struck this 4,400 lb. vehicle, but very few point out that the only survivor had worn his seat belt.

Well, if she truly believed that, then why didn't she have the good sense to wear her seat belt every time she was in a car? That would seem a reasonable precaution if one believed someone was going to try to kill you by tampering with your car brakes, no?

Yes, as well as not speeding and not driving with a drunk. Boy that Charles is a clever one.

Coinkydink? Curiouser and curiouser ;o)

It wasn't her car, it wasn't due to the brakes. It was a drunk driver slamming into a mass of concrete at high speed.

I guess she nailed that one. </sarcasm>

I guess Prince Charles has a set of likes and dislikes totally different from mine. That would help explain why he wanted to dump Princess Di for Fergie.

To me, that would be like trading in a BMW for a KIA.

Would it have not been easier to knock her off with a staged overdose ala Marilyn Monroe? Most of the world new that Diana was "distraught" so they probably would have belived the overdose thing. A purposeful car accident is a bit much.

I think you meant to say he wanted to dump her for Camilla.
