Financial Life is good when the kids graduate from college. The first degree was on us. Any postgrad work was on their dime.

We had one year of two in college or post highschool expensive programs. That was about as bad as having two in braces at the same time, driving cars and just being teenagers.

My parents were lucky with my brother and I. College was less expensive than the Catholic High schools we had been in. And in my case it was just part of the cost of books due to scholarships and state financial aid, and because we lived at home, there was also no dorm expenses.

4 years of two in college oldest changed major and got sick took 5 years. So I agreed to help youngest through grad school. Oldest got married in Sep 03 since oldest is female 1 wedding paid for. 1 year apart in school, driving, ect.... Youngest is son so no more weddings to buy. Oldest picked husband well. Youngest already has good position starting after grad school.

Next fall I'll take a 6 mo sabatical.
