Years ago, my rock and roll legends-challenged sister-in-law was attending Hew Hampshire College and was working at a local, upscale'ish restaurant (she was a hotel and food service major) when Ray Davies came strolling in with 3 of his band mates looking to be seated immediately. They were apparently playing a venue nearby that night.
She informed him that she didn't have a table for 4 available at the moment but she would do what she could to seat them as soon as possible.
Ray's reply was, "Hey babe, don't you know who we are?"
She replied, "Uh, no I don't"
Ray proclaimed loudly, "Were the 'Kinks' baby!"
Very calmly and with a genuinely puzzled look on her face she replied, "What's a Kink?"
