I've discussed this very subject with many people in the past. In general, just about everyone is unaware that the Federal Reserve System is nothing but a bunch of corporations with extraordinary powers. Almost noone understands that a "dollar" is nothing more than a unit of weight of silver, and most people have never read that only gold and silver are lawful money in constitutional terms.

Ignorance is almost universal on these points, which is why it is a moot point, because even when the facts of the matter are pointed out to people, almost to a man, there is no comprehension of what it actually means, and why FRNs are a bad thing.

Our grand parents knew instinctively not to trust the government, politicians or the bankers. Today, people don't even relate to "real" money and are so uneducated on the subject, that they don't know any and all fiat currency systems are nothing more than ponzi schemes that always fail. It will take a real shock to wake most up from their dumbed down "ignorance is bliss" state.
