If GM ever gets smart and makes a redo of the 60 vet, it will be over sold in a NY minute.

If tou can afford the car, you can afford the tickets that go with the red.

That is a beautiful car.
I see Ford is keeping up it's reputation for producing the best looking cars and trucks on the road.

Ford's do suck.

That's funny, every Ford I've owned has run great and lasted a long time.

I was truly amazed with my first Ford, that any car company could build such trouble free long lasting cars that could stand up to all kinds of abuse.

On the other hand I've had friends who bought GM cars and complained about them constantly.

Thanks for the tips. Looks like Ford has been reading my mind...and probably millions of others!

I suspect that the car will sell big overseas...they just need to make sure an anniversary
release of the movie "Bullit" comes out about the time they unleash the new Mustang.

From the trivia section on "Bullit" at www.imdb.com:
Two Mustangs and two Dodge Chargers were used for the famous chase scene.
Both Mustangs were owned by the Ford Motor Company and part of a promotional loan
agreement with Warner Brothers. The cars were modified for the high-speed chase by
veteran auto racer Max Balchowsky. Stunt coordinator Carey Loftin got Bud Ekins to drive
the Mustang for the bulk of the stunts. Both of the Dodges were junked after the filming,
as was one of the Mustangs. The other less banged-up Mustang was purchased by a
WB employee after all production and post-production was completed. The car ended up
in New Jersey a few years later, where 'McQueen, Steve' attempted to buy it.
The owner refused to sell, and the car now sits in a barn and has not been driven in many years.

The director called for speeds of about 75-80 mph, but the cars (including the ones
containing the cameras) reached speeds of over 110 mph. Filming of the chase scene
took three weeks, resulting in 9 minutes and 42 seconds of footage.

They were denied permission to film on the Golden Gate Bridge.

For the money, if I had it, I'd rather get a Bentley Rolls Royce or an Aston Martin. Cool cars! :)

Well, I guess one really bad experience can really just turn you off for good. Might not be the fairest assessment, but it does go to show how customer service and quality control can go a long way

In fairness to the Ferrari lovers (aren't we all), I understand that the GT design was a Ford/Ferrari JV. Supposedly Ford was in discussions to buy Ferrari but the deal fell apart because Ferrari was worried about being swallowed up and ruined by Ford.

The GT does have Ferrari-esque lines.

The GT-40 was built -in part - because the Ferrari deal didn't work out. The car was not a joint venture with Ferrari, though... Ford partnered with Lola Cars of England on the design. Like the Shelby Cobra, the GT-40 is another Anglo-American hybrid.

The Lola Mk6 GT was the GT-40's direct predecessor:

That reminds me of my first Shelby. It was blue like that one except it was a GT500KR with a 428 Cobra Jet engine and a 4pd transmission!

Actually, I drive a towncar every day, and have an explorer for carrying my kayaks. I just don't think it looks good to carry boats on a lincoln!

I have never owned a shelby, but had a 289 fastback in the early 70's. It got me too many tickets, so I got a VW dasher. It was quite a change! LOL... then I got a vw westphalia camper, and just hung out!
