" The state can and will vote differently in the next election....just wait and see."
As a resident of your Irish neighbor to the south (O'Regon), I will believe it when I see it. Your libs seem to me to be even more solidly entrenched than they are here. I hope you are right but am not holding my breath.

Hi Neighbor...yes I agree with your assessment, but I am ever the optomist with the hope that these entrenched feel good types will use their heads one day when taxes go up again. I see our liberal in the Governorship says Washington State will not be in trouble because he is working our budget out!! That is really a laugh considering just about everything in the state has gone up and all the excess they had due to taxes on property ownership was spent on getting reelected last time. The only thing we really nailed them on was car and truck licenses.

However, if any of the following happens, I'd be happy to buy the beers at a tripartite celebration at the Seattle watering hole of your choice:
1) Baghdad Jim McDermott is voted out.
2) Patty "I wear Nike Airheads" Murray is beaten by Nethercutt.
3) Seattle paves more than 1.5 miles of street in 2004 or builds 300 yards of new road or fills more than 200 potholes.
