CVG

I know it is Cincinnatti. But that looks more like Covington.

The humor is that Cincinnatti's airport is in KY. :)

The Litchfield (MN) Municipal airport used to have the designator Y69. Asks an interesting question...

simply be a blip on the screen

Also known as a "skin paint", with no flight info (number, altitude, speed, etc.) tag shown beside the return. ATC hates dealing with non-CATIII situations.

Obviously. One is being identified as a Gulfstream.and is currently returning North. One craft i'd as 02 is still in trail. Ahead are flights bound for Oakland, Portland and Reno, so obviously, the craft is under positive air traffic control. Don't think there's anything to this, after all. The one flight from MUO (Mountain Home) is still behind and a bit below, but that's it. A Southwest Airlines flight has just passed below and behind at 31000

I agree. A plane that is headed for a target must be blown up. However, if they are rerouting foreign airliners over the ocean, it serves the purpose of not having to blow them up to protect anyone on the ground. It would then be up to Al Quaeda to do the dirty deed over the ocean. They would only get to blow up ONE PLANE before we would close our airspace to foreign airlines.

I am listening on an old Radio Shack Pro-2006. Depending on what you are listening to, a scanner could run from $99 to $500....or more! If you have digital trunked systems which are becoming prevalent, you will have to spend some dough!

>>>1-What kind of scanner do you have?
and
2-What kind of scanner do you wish you had?
I am in the market for one.

and Chicago O'Hare is ORD. But, that was derived from "Orchard Place", a small farming community near the airport when it was first built (and known as "Douglas Field").

Never noticed that. I flew out Y12 which was Lakeville Airlake. I'll have to check that next time.
