I know just about everything second hand. It was nice in the early 80's while I was growing up, but I remember everything subtly starting to change some time around the late 80's or so. I think that was just when it really started to become un-ignorable, though. It had been building for decades.

In 1980, I rented an office on Wilshire Bl. in mid city LA. It was a great area then,; many lawyers and financial institutions. Between 1985(amnesty)and 1987, the place turned into a ghetto, with winos, trash on the streets, transients(guess who they were). Only 24 months.I moved my offices to Ventura county. Now,16 years later, the city next to where I live is majority hispanic(tens of thousands of illegals)
