Please use your bump-lists. I left the sidebars in because they contain some very good links to very useful graphs.
Contrary to its usual style, the Journal-Sentinel did some good homework here and seems to have a grip on the facts.

The US went through a very similar economic adjusgement in the late 50s through the early 80s with Japan.
I think it's about time to learn Mexican. (Spanish in Yankee lingo)
Nothing changes under the sun. Pretty soon, even Mexican will complain about Chinese taking THEIR jobs. Won't that be a hoot?

This is the legacy of our politicians and their short sightedness. They've sold us out to the rest of the world telling us how greatly we would profit from Nafta. What was once far from me and my family now sits on our doorstep - the prospect of loosing our jobs to employees overseas. My family is largely employed by the automotive industry. Delphi, GM and Chrysler. All of them are concerned for their futures at this point. I work in IT support and my job has been under threat for some time now. Where I live, there isn't Much of anything that can replace the level of income if this job goes away. The question isn't whether our jobs will go; but, when. The bush economy cannot stop the loss of jobs we are seeing unless nafta is dealt with and soon. It is likely too late to repair much of the damage that has been done. It isn't too late to prevent more.
