The idiots at the processing plant should never have processed the meat once the BSE was determined. Better to take the loss on one cow than to take the beating they will now take.

It's not just stupidity, it's greed too. Both on the part of the rancher and the meat packers. The slaughter house didn't have to purchase a downer animal. It should be illegal to sell a downer animal.
