MSNBC just announced that three flights from Paris to the U.S. have been suddenly cancelled due to "security concerns". The first flight was scheduled to depart Paris heading for Los Angeles.
I could not find an article yet.

and the three Air Marshalls were very jumpy
That brings up an interesting question: do the SWAT passport checkers know who is an air marshall on the plane beforehand? If they're only checking passports I suppose it doesn't matter. But if it involves looking them over for weapons it could get a little hairy.

Per the Air France website:
AF070 is a Boeing 747-400 that departs Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) at 7:00 pm Paris time and arrives at LAX at 9:30 pm PST, 11 hours 50 minutes later. It's a direct flight.
The other LAX-bound flight showing as cancelled is AF382, an Airbus A340-300 leaving CDG at 10:45 am Paris time and arriving at 1:25 pm in Cincinnati. Then there's a transfer to AF8760 (which is operated by Delta), a Boeing 767 going from Cincy to LAX.
The 12/25 version of AF068 is cancelled as well.

So the REAL solution is to weed out the Jews from the Bush Administration, eh? Bet you miss the useful purposes your philosophical brethren dreamed up in the 1940's. And don't forget, Arbeit Macht Frei. You don't have to waste any time on that twit any more. He's been banned.

Interesting that terrorists would be trying to gain access to the US through france... (capitalization not required when discussing the french).

And you entirely missed my point. Be it the Monarchy, the Republic or the Empire itself, France as a glorious model of human progress and equitable governance has no validity in any epoch. Particularly so, from the American pov.

Per the Air France website: <sigh> Nothing like going to the source. :-)

People, this is a DEMOCRAT war in Iraq. It's pure social engineering, planned by Democrats in Republican clothing. Utter nonsense! Democrat policy has done absolutely nothing to shield us from terrorist attacks, which BTW led directly to the attack of 9-11. The Democrats have only been interested in obtaining/maintaining power and handing out the goodies to their "constituencies", while hoping that nothing serious happened that would upset their control.
Well, on 9-11 something serious DID happen, which is why the US citizenry opted for Republican leadership to deal with the peoblem (read the polls and weep, pardner). The only 'engineering' that the Bush Administration is doing is to establish a pro-Western democratic government in the center of the Middle east, while simultaueously using our Armed Forces and Intelligence assets to "engineer' the deaths of as many terrorists necessary to force them to stand down. This seems entirely sensible to me.
Don't tell me I'm a troll -- I'm the most conservative guy in the room.
If your definition is to sit in your apartment and let the terrorists drop bombs on you, and do nothing about it, I would call you a fool or deranged, either of which is most likely the case. Conservative? Feh.

if they made their move after the connection, it would be on a fully-fueled B767-300 And they'd be checked passengers, huh? No screening to get through.

***I am glad I live in the middle of Kansas.***
Yeah, that's what I thought too, on 9-11-2001; we live in a town of 1,000 in the middle of Nebraska. THEN the president was diverted from Florida to Louisiana to NEBRASKA, less than 100 miles from where we live.
Yes, I know we're generally safer her in the Midwest, but it was funny that day; before he left that AM, my husb. and I said to each other, "I'm glad we live in the middle of NE." Then that happened just a few hrs. later.

(At this point, French bashing is too easy, and thus isn't good sport....) Fortunately, we still live in a free country and we can all make choices.
What you think doesn't count for much.

Amen. No matter what, the French are still our good friends, despite what hyped-up reports you see in the media and on internet chat sites.
