You do realize that this amnesty thing would likely only end up allowing illegal Mexicans to become legal, right? (for the most part anyway) If it turns out that they give legal status to hundreds of thousands of hispanics and your friend is left out, will you still defend it? Bush is out to get the hispanic vote. That's why he's working on this. If your friend isn't hispanic, he'll likely be out of luck on this deal. Show me something... anything that says this amnesty proposal is for hispanics and Mexicans only.

He has a point, all of those illegal Australians and Italians and Greeks are the real reason for the amnesty.
It's insane to think the twelve million illegals from SOTB are in anyway the focal point of the reasoning that led to the proposal. Lets not lose our focus here.

Show me something... anything that says this amnesty proposal is for hispanics and Mexicans only. read the article. Bush is talking to Fox. It even quotes "family values don't stop at the Rio Grande". Is there another country that borders the US with the Rio Grande other than Mexico?
