WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (CNN) -- As attorneys for Rush Limbaugh went to court Monday to try to keep his medical records out of the hands of Florida prosecutors, there have been negotiations on a possible plea bargain for the conservative talk show host, according to a spokeswoman for his radio network.

"Now he needs to pay his debt to society"
Don't know about you but Limbaugh doesn't owe me a damn thing . . . Please tell me how he is any different than an alcoholic like Teddy Kennedy
Agree with your first line but 'Good Grief'!
Rush pays more to society everyday. . .his job is a much needed 'public service' to educate people to the critical political realities of our day. And he is a tax paying citizen. . .
As for Teddy Kennedy; he is an evil Liberal! And that speaks for itself.
And Teddy has NEVER tried to rehabilitate himself.

You don't have a clue as to what you're talking about and you've made quite a fool of yourself with these statements. You are defending a so-called "conservative" (when it suits his purpose, otherwise Rush is just another hollywood-type dope addict entertainer) who said publicly that all drug users should be locked up, (but not the great Rush Limbaugh of course!)and I'm the fool?
Whatever. I guess all those drug raids in the middle of the night in the slums or the barrios you can see 24/7 on Cops are all staged and all the people kissing the floor with a 9mm jammed in their ear for possession and sale of pot are actors eh?
And they don't really drag their ass*s down to jail either, yeah thats it.
And that brings up the subject of exactly why the local police down there didn't bust down Rush's door in the middle of the night when they had a snitch droppin a dime on him and a tape of Rush asking his dealer to score some dope for him??
That would be more than enough reason to roust any regular person but I guess rich and famous people have different rules applied to them by the Police than the regular scum, eh?

" FACT: The only witness in this case has been proven not credible."
The Clines were given immunity, which the prosecutors would not have done, until they checked out the authenticity of their information.
"Given immunity, the Clines became part of a drug probe that led to the arrest of Louis and Gloria Beshara last May. Authorities believe that the Clines' illegal supply of painkillers came from the Besharas.
Investigators tracked 450,000 doses of the powerful narcotic painkiller hydrocodone that were dispensed at the Besharas' small pharmacy, World Health Association, in suburban Lake Worth. The Besharas were charged with trafficking and conspiracy to traffic in hydrocodone, a painkiller similar to morphine.
During a six-month undercover operation, law enforcement agents from the multi-agency task force also seized 73,000 narcotic tablets from the Besharas' home in Loxahatchee and from the pharmacy, and unearthed $806,000 in cash."
" FACT: Nobody on this thread has been able to tell me exactly what drugs were found.."
The search warrants detail the amount of prescription narcotics that pharmacists sold to Rush.He got a boatload of pills, just from the pharmacies, never mind the maid.In court, the prosecutors would have the pharmacists individually testify that they filled his prescriptions. The scrips themselves would also be introduced. This is how they would document the amount of narcotics that Rush had illegally possessed. Illegally, because it's a 3rd degree felony in Florida to misrepresent yourself to an MD for the purpose of obtaining excessive amounts of narcotics.Unless Roy Black is going to claim that someone was impersonating Rush. The prosecutors have the law on their side and they have the evidence from the pharmacies to show that Rush or someone pretending to be Rush, left the pharmacies with x amount of narcotics. They may be holding a weight charge against him, which would go to distribution-again,that's the law. Rush has nothing to bargain with-unless he can give up someone higher. The prosecutors know this.If the prosecutors were life long Republicans, they would probably be treating the case the same way-to avoid charges of favoritism. Rush is going to have to plead to something,to make this go away. It would not surprise me if he has to plead to a felony.

And no, CNN quoting a radio spokesman about some vague amount of drugs is not the equivalent to any amount of drugs having been seized. remember, that radio spokesperson is essentially his employer, the company his contract is with. Geez, it could have been Rush himself who said it. It still does not equate to any drugs having been seized.

He got a boatload of pills, just from the pharmacies, never mind the maid.Exactly. And the affadavit clearly states it is ONLY a five month period they are looking at! According to the first stories, Rush's original doctors stopped prescribing for him in 1999!

So far. It's entirely possible that every word of it will turn out to be true. It's equally possible that some of it is untrue.
My position is the same whether it's Rush or Michael Jackson or Scott Peterson. People hear something and run with it. The facts will come out; there's no need to run with speculation.
My main complaint on this particular thread are the people who insist that a large quantity of drugs have been seized in the Limbaugh case. As far as I know, that has not been reported anywhere.

Well, so far, the National Enquirer has been telling the "truth."Now on that we can agree. Rush has become very Clintonesque with parsing words, hiding behind legalities, and a steady drip, drip drip of information.
Seems Rush and Slick enjoy more than just cigars.
To: alnick
It's clear what the context of this thread is. So is the obvious problems with the anal-retentive troll on this thread (Um, that would be you). Sit down and take a few deep breaths...then get over yourself.

I think the word used is obtained, not seized.
Should we marginalize the Enquirer on this story because they may have one or a few things turn out not correct when the main context of the story is true?
Seems that's what Clintonesta's did with their adversaries.

gettin' personal now, you're pickin' on my Cowboys.
To: joesbucks
No, the word is seized. That's what has been repeatedly claimed on this thread.
If you read the post that you replied to, you'd see that I didn't marginalize the NE.
As for comparing Rush to Clinton, that's more than a stretch.

I never read that any drugs were seized at all. My point in this thread is that the number of pills quoted here is a fraction of what he really had. I looked back and couldn't find the original NE article, but I swear I thought I remember the figure 300,000. I could be wrong, but that's the number that springs to mind. That number could be the $$$ he paid out for the pills though. We shall see. But as I said, the NE has been pretty accurate on this one -- and according to their "editor" -- that Walker guy -- is it Michael? -- there is more to come. Not looking good for Rush.

I believe the news release said he obtained. I haven't seen where drugs were seized, (however I may have missed something).
As for the Rush Clinton comparison, both parsed what they did through their words, had their minions out further split hairs (what does it mean "he didn't intend to sell drugs"), there has been a steady drip, drip, drip of information and lot's of legal manuevering. And promises of "working with authorities" and so forth. So ok, he didn't do an intern. (that we know of)
To: alnick
Let me correct the quote: "he never intended to sell his drugs" Does this imply that he did sell them but the devil made him do it?
To: Alissa
Why are you railing on HLL? I missed her post.
To: joesbucks
Rush has become very Clintonesque with parsing words, hiding behind legalities, and a steady drip, drip drip of information. Don't forget, he's promised to tell everything....that's what he said: that at the proper time -- whenever the heck that is -- he'll tell everything -- "more than you'll want to know," he said.
So far, he's not batting that well in that department, IMO.
And all arguments about his middle history aside, I'm curious about what they might say about his "back injury" and his hearing loss.

I don't doubt that he obtained large numbers of pills.
I was responding to some people on this thread who have repeatedly stated that Rush should get the same treatment as any other person who has had large quantities of drugs seized.
I asked them if drugs were seized in this case because I haven't heard that news, and they responded by changing the subject or personally attacking me.
