No, you didn't read it. It implies he/she thought he didn't deserve it. If that's not what he/she meant, he/she coveyed the exact opposite.

It implies he/she thought he didn't deserve it. I think the screen name "nina0113" implies that its owner is a woman, but "Not because X" does not imply "X." But if anyone is uncertain about it, clicking on the "nina0113" at the bottom of the post and then on the "In Forum" link should clear things up.
