The simple fact is that when most people walk into the voting booth, the candidates position on abortion is way down on their list of priorities. That's just the way it is.

Another simple fact is that for a whole lot of people who vote a candidate's position on abortion is most certainly not way down on the list of priorities.

It would be suicide for the GOP to tick off pro lifers. Look what happened to the Dems.

I completely agree with you. Most Republicans are decidedly pro-life, and many are passionate about the issue. Telling us to take a hike would be political suicide in many places, and certainly on the national level. While a George Pitooti or Christine Fraud Witless may win in a RINO state, anyone who believes they'd be electable to the White House is fooling himself.
