Dane -- another geniune attempt to help you here -- you have to be SUPER tactful when dealing with the mourning. I may agree with you that suicide is selfish and cowardly.

But the farthest I would go, on this thread, to saying so about Chris is to say I was angry at him.

That's as far as you can go and still not cause more pain to the grieving widow. You always have to think about other peoples' feelings in these situations.

Family members shouldn't blame themselves, I agree - and I'm glad to know that was your point. I still strongly disagree with your insistence on describing suicide in such general, sweeping terms as "selfish" - you're just plain wrong in the case of what my family experienced - and I wish you would consider qualifying your remarks in that regard.
