we shouldn't expect that our lives will follow the "exciting" and "entertaining" lifestyles that are portrayed.

I think this is especially true for women. Today's stereotypical heroine is a man with breasts. She's tougher than the bad guys, beautiful as a lingerie model, and smarter than Einstein's physics teacher. There's no room in there for femininity or a woman who just wants to make a good home for her children. If you ain't Lara Croft, you ain't squat.

Ain't very many women going to be Lara Croft. And the truth is, the bad guys would kick the crap out of her anyway.

The lesson? The images Hollywood presents are lies. Don't aspire to a lie.

Anjelina Jolie is so far from Lara Croft herself. I think the life of Hollyweird is mostly for a laff. Hollyweird thinks they can do whatever they want because they have money. All the money in the world won't save you from sickness and depression.

Very true.
In RETROSPECT, this also applies to TILH's situation.
(I venture in this direction very reluctantly, since I did not know him personally.)
But on the previous thread, we were supplied information where TILH expressed a number of situations that he was depressed about. I can't help but make the detached observation that selling one's house and taking an extended hiking trip to relieve occupational "burnout" is itself an expression of Hollywood idealistic escapism.
