CNN has: The court also upheld restrictions on political ads in the weeks before an election. The television and radio ads often feature harsh attacks by one politician against another or by groups running commercials against candidates.
VERY BAD NEWS. Unfreaking believable.

And people think it's not important for Bush to be reelected?
We have GOT to get some of our people on THIS Supreme Court!

Unfreaking believable.Just keep in mind that this cannot stop New Media: Talk radio, the net, etc. This ruling will make them more powerful than ever, as the "mainstream" media starts to baldfacedly shill for the RATS and the public revolts as a result. It worked after the Wellstone memori-rally, it'll work in 2004.
We still need to agitate to get the law REPEALED, however.

CNN did reassure viewers that the Cable News Network itself would be free to present it's views and educate voters about Republicans before elections and would not be affected by the ruling...

We no longer live in a free country, if you can't engage in political speech before an election.

CFR was already dead before this. Everyone has figured out their work arounds.
Get ready for the NRA radio network!

Crap. It upholds the ad ban.
This is a black day for America. A very very black day.
All we needed was one more conservative on that damn court.

I warned people when Bush first signed this that SCOTUS was too unreliable to depend on them doing the right thing. Bush gambled that someone else would bail him out, and he lost big time.
What a disgrace.
