That is quite possibly the most inane comment I have ever seen on FR. Since tasting victory, the majority of Freepers now place party before principle. It is amazing, the contortions they do to rationalize supporting a de facto socialist president. Here's your list, folks, in case you are keeping track:
1. Deficit spending as far as the eye can see with increases in domestic spending that far exceed the rate of inflation and economic growth COMBINED.
2. The education bill
3. The farm bill
4. Billions in Aids relief for Africa
5. Campaign Finance Reform
6. Federal Agents at every airport strip searching Americans
One question for all you Freepers who love "victory" so much you are willing to sell anything to get it:
Is the country more socialist today than it would have been had Al Gore been elected with a Democrat Congress?
In your heart, you know the answer. We have met the enemy and he is us.

Point well taken, but what we have here is someone who is closer to Richard Nixon. But would we be more socialist under Gore? Yes we would. As much as I like Dubya, I do wonder just what the %%#$@ he's thinking.

Apparently you are unfamiliar with the meaning of "socialism." There are many good sources to help with your misunderstanding.

Yes we know the answer. And most who were adamant about expressing what was happening are no longer here.
