The falls are a power station. The falls flow over huge turbines and are a major source of power. A source that did not fail durring the blackout BTW. Many areas in the NE that still had power all through the blackout owed that to Niagara falls as I understand it.

After last summer's blackouts, we'd all think that the result was simply business as usual...
