Like Churchill, Berlusconi is man greater than his country. That's not meant to be a knock on Italy. Blair may be a flakey socialist, and before all of this I'd have never thought he would have rose to the occasion either but he seems to be stand-up guy as well.

I admire Berlusconi. He is a strong ally of the US and he tells it like it is, which isn't easy when you have leaders like Chirac and Schroeder as your next-door neighbors.
Americans, please spend your tourist dollars where you are appreciated: Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Spain, Australia -- for a start!
