I suppose in many ways, yes. Once upon a time the word liberal referred to those who believed in "laissez-faire " free markets. It has been said that the word was co-opted by the left at some point to cloak their true beliefs.

Yes, in the classical meaning of the word, conservatives are liberal. The left are experts in co-opting and redefining words, and in controlling the channels with which messages get dispersed.

That is why the internet and talk radio are so valuable to opponests of the left.
