We had a GREAT Support Our Troops rally on Saturday. Lots and lots of support from motorists passing by on their way to and from the mall.
A couple of guys stopped by to join us and thank us for being there with our message.
The first one was a Marine from neighboring Merced who served in the mid seventies. He was on his way to the mall to do some Christmas shopping. He grabbed one of the signs and stayed with us for about an hour.
The second was Army. He was in town from his home in Nevada to spend Thanksgiving with his grandmother. He parked his pickup, stolled up to our location and began taking pictures of all the signs and flags. As we talked with him, it turns out that he just returned from Iraq last Wednesday. He plans to e-mail his photos to his comrades still over in Iraq just to let them know that there are folks here at home supporting them and the job they are doing. He presented an "Operation Enduring Freedom" patch to our leader/organizer.
Salute to my fellow vets, and our Armed Forces.
