Maine Magazine, which I founded in 1976, with money from the heir to the Miller Beer fortune, and published the first issue of in December 1976. I published Stephen King's first major short story, the first fiction in 25 years by the author of M*A*S*H, and almost won a National Magazine Award -- at 26. I sold it to Downeast (the historic "competitor" for which I'd written before launching Maine). I was also the founding managing editor of The Woodenboat, a unique magazine that is still sold all over the world.
Thanks for asking.

money from the heir to the Miller Beer fortuneThat does it for this cat, pal! I was seriously considering a vote for ya during the general election - see the bumpersticker above I designed exclusively for your campaign - but now, forget it! I promised my late grandfather, and old world brewer, that I'll never vote for anyone associated with that pissywater poison! Sorry. No, really!

I also think my fellow senior citizens should forego their 400 billion dollar drug boondoggle and that money be spent on national defense. The Patriot Act is indefensible. The Dept of Edu. is still a big waste and border security in the south is a joke. No matter what you may think of corp.America, capitalism and Adam Smith still guide traditional conservatism. I'm sensitive to Marxist overtones in a persons view...Are you sure you harbor none?
Would you ABOLISH THE IRS?...Say yes and I may consider you.
