Are you saying that Rush is a hypocrite because the Scriptures say we are all sinners until saved? Or something along those lines.

"Are you saying that Rush is a hypocrite because the Scriptures say we are all sinners until saved? Or something along those lines."

No, if you read my post, I was responding to a statement about an Ayn Rand book. I gave a better source for her point. I was also using it as a means of giving a chance at eternal life, to sinners!

I AM saying that Rush is a hypocrite because he asks everyone to forgive him, while continuing to justify his actions "because he did not understand why he was doing those things (my paraphrase)" or similar ridiculous statements, UNTIL HE WAS IN REHAB. If he was as smart as he claims to be (and i do not doubt he is smart), and able to perform his radio show, without problems, then he must be a hypocrite. He knew he was doing wrong. Admitting it, in the light of discovery, does not make him honest, just caught!

I like the guy, I listen to the guy, but I do think that this is hypocritical. I have smoked hemp, and eaten peyote. I do not regret it, and do not state so, though they were illegal drugs (though naturally obtained). I contend the WOD is a farce, and a waste of people (to hell with the money wasted). I have cringed when he has made repeated reference to "pot-smoking, maggot infested" people, implying a GENERALIZATION of characteristics, with the leftist creeps, and castigating/demeaning those smoking hemp.

Please explain to me why his past statements should not now be recognized, as hypocritical! Because he admitted them, after exposure by others. What if he had been arrested, and jailed?

To justify him by saying he hasn't done it lately, is no different than to justify any other immoral or illegal act, after the fact! It still was wrong. He admits the wrong action, but he denies that he really knew what he was doing. It was the drugs!
I believe it was Rush, aware of what he was doing, and doing it because he wanted to do it. I believe he hid because he wanted to continue. I believe he stopped because he got caught. If you believe and accept him in this denial, you join yourself to that hypocricy...
