[history]
November 25, 2003 -- A sneak-attack caller yesterday launched Rush Limbaugh into a defense against charges he was a hypocrite for demanding tough sentences for drug users while he himself was taking black-market pain killers. "It's not hypocritical because my behavior doesn't determine the value of right and wrong - nobody's does," Limbaugh told listeners.

I've known a couple combat vets that did themselves in. I'm not sure what was going on in their minds but I do know they sure as heck were not "cowards".I disagree. They may have been brave in front of bullets and bombs, but the simple challenges of day to day living reduced them to a cowardly act.

Rush Limbaugh and Noam Chomsky both have their sheeple. Rush just has more.Rush has done more to change the hearts and minds of liberals to conservatism than this formum has.

Because it was defensive, I asked the question.Yet you choose not to answer the converse question. I guess it's OK for you to ask a question, yet not answer one recieved in return.
Now who is truly being hypocritical?

I assume you would not be considered compassionate conservative.
Rush has always said He would tell you what to think, I thought he was joking but some of you took it seriously.

I assume you would not be considered compassionate conservative. No, I would not. I dance upon the graves of liberals and those who are so far to the right that they act as liberals.
There's a fellow on another forum -- Arator. He now advocates for Dean's election. STRONGLY, if I recall. He's a right winger who went so far to the right that he's now in left territory.
Are you there, or are you just a liberal?
Rush has always said He would tell you what to think, I thought he was joking but some of you took it seriously.
I disagree with about 30% of what Rush says.
But I do agree with him, when he says to despise you.

"Look no farther than the double standard he applies when passing judgement on democrat big govt socialism vs republican big govt socialism." I agree with your assessment of the Republicans here, to a large extent. But I have heard Rush being very critical of GW for not opposing big gov't stuff. And taking a lot of heat from his listeners for it.
How's it going?

They don't call him the (pill) 'head ditto' for nothing.Oh well, I guess he'll have to get used to this sort of thing.
That which does not kill you makes you stronger.

Oh well, I guess he'll have to get used to this sort of thing.Indeed. There are those who will abandon ship at the first sign of weakness, as opposed to shoring up that weakness and forging ahead.

Ah wrong. In Weston's world it goes like this. "If you want to be a hypocrite like me you get your own place and then you can be as hypocritical as you want. But as long as you are under this hypocrites roof you will follow his rules, or else."

I expect a real flaming here, from the robots, but IMO, Rush is NOT ALWAYS RIGHT!Agreed.
He is not the salvation of conservatives.
Give the man credit. He's done more for modern conservatism than any other one person -- save Reagan, maybe.

I think by the end of last week, Rush was 100% on his game.
And frankly, the feeding frenzy over Michael Jackson has pushed Rush's thing off the front page.

"But to beat on Rush is not the most sporting thing to do."
I learned a couple of phrases in my youth...
"What's good for the goose, is good for the gander..."
"...that's like the pot, calling the kettle black..."
This is life, not sport, and to call Rush a hypocrite is just making an accurate assessment of his life, and words. He has been one of the most vocal critics, at times, of those who use drugs illegally. Yet, he expects special treatment, because he is Rush Limbaugh, "with talent on loan from God..." If that does not qualify him as hypocritical, I have sadly misread the definition!
I did not say anyone should not listen to him, I just don't think they should encourage him to continue this lie...
And, I believe he does owe an apology to his listeners. He denied, denied, denied, until the truth became known! Only then, after GETTING CAUGHT IN HIS LIES, did he 'fess up, and seek help (so he could justify his actions). Again, IMO, that IS hypocritical.
