I've been lurking these threads for a while and want to thank you for posting them.
While I think that in the intermediate to long term the probabilites for high inflation are very good I will wait to buy my gold after I see a confirmation of the COTR.
The FED claims that it is fighting "disinflation" with inflation. If you think the FED is going to win, bet on inflation. If you see signs that the FED is losing control of the situation, then we will get deflation in spades. I think that the FED is going to win the the shorter term but eventually lose the battle. By then, the economy and the public ought to be totally baked, broiled, boiled and fried. Things will be so out of wack that it will take a decade to straighen it all out.
