Rush just used the word "schadenfreude." It's more evidence Rush is a lurker on here...

Way to go, DefCon. Those Americans have no knowledge of Deutsch pronuncification. I heard Mario Coumo get the first syllable correct but miss the "Duh!" Did Homer Simpson pronounce it correctly?
To: Phantom Lord
His use of the word is in no way evidence that he is a lurker.
It is a pertty common word.
Rush is a lurker though, but this is not evidence of it.I certainly agree with you on this one.
Hell, IMHO this has to rank as one of the most pathetic excuses for a vanity I've seen posted in over 5 years.
I think it deserves a ZOT!
To: Pyro7480
I've heard Rush use the words Free and Republic all in the same day, so this must be true! Blackbird.
To: Pyro7480
I'm hoping Rush starts talking about the counter-counter-culture. William F. Buckley has. :-)

Limbaugh a lurker? You mean like his taking the line today that the so-called "neocon" foreign policy of Bush is remarkably similar to the "liberal" policy of JFK?
I think so...

I don't get it.Pretty sad, isn't it?
I may not be the biggest Rush fan on this forum,
but I DO believe that if we want to retain him as a lurker,
the intellectual level of discussion has to be propped up a bit.
To: Phantom Lord
Use of a word does not a lurker make, but
THIS does.
Congressman Billybob's column was special to FR.
To: Pyro7480
More evidence was the time he let the phrase "barf alert" slip out, in the same context it is used here.
To: Snake65
Yep! Hugh and Series would do it for me...LOL! HI RUSHIE :) x*x*x*

Please help an old man.
What the heck is counter-counter-culture?
By the way kudos on a great home page!

yes, of course, we invented that word. listen, you may be right. but it's only fair that you understand that that word is almost as overused these days as "gravitas" was a few years back.

FR is to the Internet what EIB is to the AM band and all radio. Since the advent of broadband, FR's influence has increased exponentially. EIB and FR harmonize.

Well, you know what the counterculture is? How they spit on traditional values and believe in misguided far-leftist ideals...
I'm the counter to the "values" of the left.
That's it in a nutshell.

Rush had a FReep name and did post here himself, back in the day.
I can't remember the name he used... but it wasn't something he hid...
I do know that people close to him lurk and post here; I've exchanged posts, FReepmails and pings with them over the years...

I guess that makes me a card carrying CCC er with you!:)
It is very appropriate re the how the media has tried to make the left culture appear to the norm instead of the abnormal.

scha·den·freu·de (shädn-froid
) n. Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others. [German : Schaden, damage (from Middle High German schade, from Old High German scado) + Freude, joy (from Middle High German vreude, from Old High German frewida, from fr½, happy).]

A Google search turns up 139,000 hits on "schadenfreude", 615 hits on "schadenfreude" + "free republic". I think this falls in the category of extremely weak circumstantial evidence.
