You obviously have some personal experience tied to this discussion so I'm not going to get into it with you. I'm merely stating that I don't believe the punishment for what he is accused of doing should be as harsh as you are hoping for. I'm not minimizing the effect of this kind of behavior, I"m just saying that it's not as bad as murder as you're saying it is. That's all.

We just disagree. I have no personal experience with molesters with me or my family or friends. But my work brings me in contact with people who have had such experience as well as pedophiles so I know a great deal about them and their means and their essential inability to change for the most part. I have little pity for them. When you weigh the big things in one's life,,the good you did, the bad things that happened to you and the bad things you did to people they weigh in very heavily on the latter. It is a shame but pity for abusers enables them.

I have to say that a lot of what has been presented on this thread is very questionable. I would never leave my children alone with an uncle who made a habit of kissing school-aged children. I suppose culture makes some difference here, so if I'm out of line, bring it on.
