Given the irreversible damage done over the past 70 years or so, I would hardly say the Constitution has "survived" today.

Constitution? That's the document politicians now use as a catchphrase whenever they want to do something completely unconstitutional isn't it? The Constitution hasn't been leading this nation for well over a hundred years
