As a Texan, I can tell you that probably most of what you have heard about LBJ is true. At least that's the opinion I get whenever the subject of LBJ comes up among Texans who lived through the LBJ era in this state.

I was a teenager in the early 60s and I can still recall my Texas aunt telling me what a crook LBJ was after he became Vice President. And she was (and still is at 86) a Southern Democrat.

LBJ and his criminal acts unrelated to Kennedy are abhorrent to say the least. His "Great Society" was his big contribution to the marxist socialization of the USA and the beginning of its debt spiral. He had no vision, no scruples, and nothing but big oil connections that got him where he was. Vietnam is mainly his legacy --- and a horrible one at that. LBJ was a failure on so many levels - i hope he repented before his appointment with our Maker.
