Get over it. I used a power that worked through my AA group when I first started the program in 1987 (i was 14 at the time). It's been a Spiritual journey for me. Now I use Christ as my "Higher Power". If I had encountered you I would still be drunk and never found Christ. One of the problems with the born again movement is that they can be their own worse enemy. Comments and statements like yours push many people away. Maybe you should read "Common Ground". It would really help you help others.

I love the way fundies think they're helping people when I've met so many people turned off to Christ because of same fundamentalists. Sorry to use term 'fundies' to make people cringe but anyone who has had experience with fundies, knows what I'm talking about.
I'm still in recovery, continuing to recover and the best therapy other than today's Rush show, was free clinic at a church, so I'm not against christianity. I just don't like zealots.

"If I had encountered you I would still be drunk and never found Christ. One of the problems with the born again movement is that they can be their own worse enemy. Comments and statements like yours push many people away." But that's the way it is with all legalists (spiritually immature people). Their SELF-righteousness is best exposed in the story of the "Good Samaritan".
Religious people go out looking to "do good" --- hence the sneering phrase, "do-gooder".
Funny thing is, that when do-gooder types actually encounter a real-life opportunity to do something good (just in the course of living their daily lives), they fall short, and actually wind up giving Christianity a bad name. Legalists are perfectly portrayed in "The SNL Church Lady" character.
Isn't THAT special?

Good comments. Many people would follow Christ if it weren't for "christians" who have refined the art of being Pharisees. Jesus told some of these people, who claimed to have cast out demons in His name and done miracles in His name that He "never knew you."
I am extremely hesitant to judge the spiritual condition of another who claims Jesus as his/her Lord. Often, some of those who are weakest appearing have the most submitted hearts, which is why God used a tax collector, a Pharisee, and a couple of drunken brawlers to advance His kingdom.
