Probably not joking. Yup. My point was that the liberal media will look for the most inflammatory or atypical post to paint FR with a broad brush. If a 1,000 post thread about terrorist attacks has one post saying 'Nuke Mecca!', chances are that's the one they'll quote. Only a real Freeper knows what FR is really like. My liberal sister in California mentioned hearing about the forum. She said, with barely concealed disdain, "I hear they call themselves 'Freepers'". I didn't bother explaining it.

I was driving in Marin County (the leftist mecca of California) the other day in my car with a FreeRepublic.com bumper sticker. I stopped at the light when a
very expensive looking Mercedes pulled up behind me, carrying two very well dressed ladies. One of them saw my sticker, pointed it out to the other, and then catching my eye in my mirror, flipped me a bird.
It's always a pleasure to be recognized.
