I can see your point, but I really can't see how this does Bush much disadvantage. And while I'm no intel expert, it's also difficult to see how these accounts from a decade ago would jeopardize current intelligence.

The points in the memo are so voluminous as to negate a simple dismissal or an easy refutation by the Dems. Note also that there are apparently many more details to come. The Dems can go out on a limb and try to break down these stories, but they will be discredited again and again in the coming year. Now's as good a time to start as any, and I have to wonder if its a coincidence that the Dems are getting hammered in these memos, and that they are getting set up bigtime on the judiciary issue as well.

I can't avoid the thought that Bush, Rove, Frist and Roberts have concluded that the enemy within must be dealt with and the brass knuckles are coming out.

Simple, 10 months from now nobody will remember this stuff.

Additionally, Democrats now have 10 months to plan a new path of attack rather than being stuck will an ill-planned strategy at the eve of the election.

That's how it disadvantages Bush.
